RACIAL DISPARITIES AND COVID-19

INVITATION TO ACTION: Support the Movement for Black Lives

DESCRIPTION:

Due to structural and systemic racism, Black people are twice as likely as white people to view the coronavirus as a significant threat to their health and their ability to survive if we contract it. Whether its overcrowded public housing units or rural areas with few reliable medical facilities, Black communities are positioned to have the poorest outcomes from COVID-19. During this national call, hear from experts on the economy, housing, health, data, and the U.S. South about the impact of the novel coronavirus on Black people and solutions for how we can endure and thrive.

This panel is being organized by the Movement for Black Lives as part of a series of national calls to Build Beloved Community During and Beyond COVID-19.
