INVITATION TO ACTION: Listen and Learn!
DESCRIPTION: 15 years ago Black families in New Orleans were victimized by state and federal officials whose neglect of state infrastructure led the levies to break during Hurricane Katrina. Hurricane season is fast approaching, and Black families – who are experiencing the worst outcomes of COVID19 – in the South, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and other vulnerable territories will have to choose between migrating during a pandemic to keep their families safe or risking their health until we find a vaccine. We want to honor those Black families by talking about climate change head on.
